I have been wanting a pair of Bostons for a while, but the backstrap makes these much more versatile. For reference, I am a size 38 in the Gizeh style and bought a 39 here, which fit perfectly (socks or no socks).

I tried on the shoes thinking I was going to have a good experience. The sole of my feet was extremely painful. The most pain was underneath the arch. It felt like I was walking on a rock. Im very disappointed in the manufacturing of what I thought was a great shoe.If the sole was a softer material they would be a winner.

However like many Birkenstock fans I immediately understood why everyone speaks highly of it when I had it on my feet. The upper leather is ultra soft, and the cork sole is carved out with foot shape for comfort. I can easily walk miles with Birkenstock tokio however some sport shoes won’t be able to make it for me.
