The Cartriges work-no residue
These cartridges purify the water that gets evaporated so that there is no deposit of calcium or mineral residues, i mostly use reverse osmosis water (cleared of most stuff) to fill my humidifier and occasionally refill with tap water, in this usage pattern i only needed 1 per year- i have not seen any residue or build up in my humidifier

I haven't had to replace my first cartridge yet, but wanted to get some replacements for when I do need to do it.

Not sure they are working
Not sure if these are working. I followed the directions and I am still getting white residue in my home. Could it be a bad batch from the supplier??

Not easily impressed, but..
I have very hard water in my building. Using a filtered shower head in combination with demineralization filters allowed me to get al little over month before cleaning light came on. This was during December and January with baseboard heat. It was running at 4-5 most of the time!
