I love the construction. The surface does not bsorb spills and can be wiped clean. the cork backing prevents anything wet from seeping through to the table, and also absorbs heat.
It was cardboard was a cheap looking ..really disappointed!
Do not buy this scrap! I never expected the quality to be this bad. It arrived with dented corners, i am so disappointed in my purchase.

I did not expect these to be absolutely awful junk what good is a place mat that can’t get wet pure garbage very disappointed by Lenox after having so much of the dinner ware and glasses this stuff is not up to their standards junk
These are a gift, so all I can say is they came and I am sure they will be loved.
