Great Sandfilter and pump, just the right size for our redesigned Intex pool.This replaces the sandfilter , pump and pool we purchased in 2011.The metal ribs rusted out last year, so we cut the pool down to 15" and now call it our senior pool
SX 1500 came with 18X9X54. 2 years in a row the pump cannot keep pool clean. Dead algae particles are too much for this pumps capacity. Will try a bigger filter pump but this unit is too small for this size pool.
Just purchased this 1500gph unit a few weeks ago. So far, We are very happy the way it has been running and cleaning our 14' X 42" 3600 gallon intex pool. We have noticed the clarity is better. Puts out much more filtered water over the 1000 gph cartridge filter that drops down once the cartridge starts gets clogged, that came with the pool. Much easier to clean the sand filter and a whole lot less mess that always happened with the cartridge filter that came with the pool. We opted for the model without the skimmer because we don't have trees around. Happy with this purchase.

Purchased two years ago and used for two seasons. At the start of this season the pump stopped working. So I purchased a new one. When the pump runs it works well. The new pump set arrived but the tank is misshapen so does not make a tight seal. Needed to use the old tank to get the system working. Attempted to send a comment to the company but the online form kept crashing so I am now just posting a slightly negative review.
Really great product. My wife and I used this on our 8 foot stock tank/cowboy pool. This pump is very easy to set up and operate. I used “LubeTube” on all of the gaskets and Teflon tape on all of the threads. Zero leaks! The kit only comes with one jet, so I ordered a second jet along with two plunger valves. Other than those pieces, a hole saw and a stock tank I was ready to go. The pump moves a serious amount of water and is virtually silent. I used filter balls instead of sand. The timer is a nice touch as well. Really happy with my purchase! Also, power usage is surprisingly low (monitored via a smart plug).
I love this pump! We bought the 16' Intex Ultra XTR pool and this pump came with it. I am so happy we made this purchase. It keeps our pool crystal clear and the automatic timer is great! I do recommend watching YouTube videos on how to work it though because the instructions it comes with are not clear. They don't tell you to backwash the pool every 7-10 days, nor does it tell you the optimal pressure. YouTube fixed that for me.
We've had this pump for a year now and no problem. Keeps the pool extremely clean.
I bought this a year ago to replace the cartridge filter that came with the pool. I have a 14'x48" pool. This filter has been a game changer. I have not had a green up once since installing the filter and it is low maintenance. Backwash and rinse once a week. If you are tired of replacing and cleaning those cartridges, by this filter.
After 8 years of use it was time for a new pump and sand filter. Intex makes great products and I’m absolutely happy with all my purchases. Just installed it and it’s working perfectly
