Marmot Men's Minimalist Pertex Jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this jacket right before a trip to Ireland and I'm super happy I did. The material did a great job of keeping me dry but also cool and comfortable. My first time using Pertex, which in my opinion has a more premium feel compared to Gortex which I'm used to. I also really liked that the jacket was extremely packable and light could be folded into the hood which made it easy to take with me. I'm not very careful with my things and this jacket stood up to the test as it still looks brand new after 2 weeks of heavy use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this to serve as a reasonably lightweight shell for 3-season hiking and backpacking with the hope that it would be light and packable enough to easily carry, but robust and waterproof enough to handle heavy and potentially driving rainy conditions for at least a little while. So far, easy to carry and handles light to moderate rain well - but have not been out in conditions that test its limits.

Not only is it lighweight and packable, the combination of the pit zips, loose waist hemline and velcro wrist closures makes it as breathable as any rain jacket I've owned. Works well in the wet and is more than sufficient as a wind barrier. The fabric also resists wrinkles really well too. The Navy Blue color is classy looking making it function equally well for a night on the town as a day on the run or trail. The only test remaining will be the test of time.

Great rain jacket. I purchased this jacket because I loved the forest green color. I already owned 2 other Marmot minimalist rain jackets. The jackets have been my go to jackets for years.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very nice. Love the large arm pit zips. The side pockets are deep and perfect for backpack. The hood adjustment keeps the hood secure to my forehead. Its very light weight and very packable. I pack it into the side pocket. I wouldn't mind if Marmot would have designed it with inside pocket zip but it fits perfect. Very happy with it.

Jacket fits great and looks stylish. Plan to purchase another jacket in a different color.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Minimalist jacket used to be made out of Goretex. I was a bit disappointed when I saw that this was Pertex instead. It's not as heavy or as water resistant. But I figured this out before I purchased the jacket and I was willing to try. I really love the Pertex jacket. It's a different animal, but great nonetheless. I want it mostly to take to the ocean where it's damp and windy. I often also have to stow it in my already full backpack. This jacket does all those things better than my Goretex version. I have both and I'm happy I have both. This was definitely a great buy.
