Beautiful Textile But Boxy Look

Kilt is high quality fabric and construction, but there is no tailoring below the hip so the skirt is straight making my silhouette look very wide. The buckles are silver color and the black straps are genuine leather. A narrow strip of velcro holds the skirt in place at the waist. I ordered size 8 at the Macys webpage according to my measurements in the size chart. This is US size. The tag on the skirt says size 12 which is UK size. I'm disappointed with how it looks on me--not flattering--so I will be returning it. I had high hopes. Women with a tiny waist might pull it off if they can wear the kilt below their waistline and tuck in a top.
