Timex Men's Mechanical Automatic Green Nylon Watch, 40mm

I like this watch. I had a cheaper Timex digital Expedition with four impossible, triangle-shaped screws that secured the back plate. Since I don't have - and have never seen a triangle-shaped screwdriver to change the battery, I just opted to upgrade my watch to an automatic. I like the fact that the MK1 is analogue and free of any chronograph/stopwatch/dive meter etc complications. Doesn't even have a date window. I'm retired so every day is Saturday anyway. Just tells time, which is all I need.

I was skeptical because over the last several years I’ve bought a couple of inexpensive timex watches that were less than quality. After reading all the positive reviews on the MK1 automatic,I decided to gamble and it paid off big. This is a great watch. It wears well, is easy to read, has decent lume and probably most importantly it keeps very good time for a mechanical watch. It looks and acts as good as a Hamilton for a fraction of the price! I highly recommend this.

I thought 'automatic' meant that I wouldn't have to wind it, that just wearing it would keep it going. That isn't the case; it has to be wound. Okay, that's not a big deal, but when I wind it, it still loses time. I'm within the time limit for returning this watch, and I may. Not sure yet.

I was looking or an affordable Field Watch and have always loved the looks of the Timex MK1. The other options I were considering were either too small (38mm) or more than I wanted to spend. The Miyota Automatic Movement and classic great looks of this watch were definitely selling points for me! I have an 8. 25" wrist so my only wish is that Timex had produced this watch in a 42mm. . . otherwise, PERFECTION!

Absolutely beautiful piece. One thing to note is that beneath the canvas band is a sown piece of leather which helps protect the material. Watch face on its own is a reason to by this piece

I wanted an inexpensive automatic for outdoor work & play. Watch seems great but don't love the strap. If you want a great strap plan on buying aftermarket but not at all disappointed in the watch.

Watch looks greats, perfect size for my wrist. The mechanical self-winding movement is insanely accurate. It has only drifted a few seconds in almost a week's time, though the rate has fluctuated from day-to-day. I'm very pleased with it. Keep offering more options for manual wind and self-winding movements. I prefer and enjoy the nostalgic ritual of manually winding my watch, so I would like to see more options for the manual wind movements. One bit of feedback for them (which of course doesn't apply to this MK-1 automatic) is for the manual winds, make the crown a little bit bigger. On the automatic movement used in this MK-1, the crown size is perfect, it's very easy to grasp and manipulate for manual winding (when I haven't worn it enough and want to give it some extra wind) and for setting the time. Make the manual wind only movements have a slightly larger crown and those would be as perfect too (the manual wind movements in your other models like the Marlin reissue keep very good time at single digits per day gain, which is quite excellent). Both styles of mechanical movements you are using are excellent, and I look forward to more models having both types coming out

Well crafted, high quality watch. May have missed this in the description but the glowing hands are a really nice touch. Also the hack feature when setting time, super cool. The strap and "wrist feel" are far more comfortable than similarly priced competitors (which I've tried).
