I do NOT recommend this model! Not as powerful as my old one that became too heavy for me, and I discovered only after buying this one that that Kitchen Aid stopped making the splash shield for it. I am disgusted enough at the mess it makes with splattering me as well as kitchen that I am about ready to get rid of it.
Fits our downsized family and space. My wife's first full sized KitchenAid Stand mixer was used all the time when our kids and grandkids were young. Our granddaughter spent many hours helping grandma in the kitchen and she just took her first job after getting her masters degree and inherited grandma's big mixer. We are retired and downsized into a smaller kitchen and this new mini is a perfect fit for our space and small enough for my wife to move around on the counter and it does not have to be wrestled out of storage. It also matches her new Kitchen Aid toaster and kettle and my coffee bean grinder :-)
So far I have made a plum tart and chocolate chip cookies. The size of the mixer is just perfect for a small apartment. I can actually lift this mixer. My 6 qt mixer is still in use by my daughter-in-law but I can lift this mixer an I don’t have to make double recipes anymore.
This mixer is the perfect size to leave on the counter for all mixing uses!
My late husband and I purchased the full-size version a few years ago...and never used it. It was so BIG it was overwhelming instead of being helpful. This small size (for just 1 person now) is perfect!
I really like this product with the exception of two things. I made four dozen cookies in it yesterday, and all of the dough got stuck in the blade itself versus mixing it up. I had to keep pushing the dough out of the middle of the blade in order to get it mixed up. My little cheap handheld mixer would have done a better job because I could use a bigger bowl. I tried buying a bigger bowl for this and as far as I can tell it will only handle 3.5 quart size - I had to return that bowl. In other words if you use it for small items it’s a great mixer!
I love this mixer! Are there any lids that fit the 3.5 qt bowl?

Love my mini kitchen aid mixer. I gave away my standard kitchen aid mixer to my niece and bought a mini. It fits in my kitchen much better and it takes less space. I live alone so the mini is perfect.
