Breville Luxe Brewer™ Drip Coffee Maker

This is a great purchase if you’re looking for the best flavor in coffee.

It doesn’t make a hot cup of coffee at all. It’s more of a lukewarm cup even on the custom setting.

I have tried many in the past 6 years- including Oxo, Technivorm, SimplyGood, Capresso--None compare overall feature-wise and resulting coffee produced. Especially rare is both a bloom feature and a programmable auto-start feature: Look it up and you'll find maybe 2 out there. No matter what I put in this, the coffee comes out with Barista-style excellence. Outstanding design, build quality, ease of cleaning too.

Easy to use, fast brewing and great product for the price

This is our second Breville drip coffe machine, the heating element went out on the first one. The one complaint we have with this new machine is that it is very loud when brewing. I believe it's the removable water basin vibrating. Whatever the case, is very loud. I would suggest purchasing the model that does not have the removable water basin.

Not so simple, but makes good coffee.it makes a loud sound sometimes.

Having used this coffee maker now for a couple of weeks now I have some thoughts to share on my experience with this coffee maker. I will say, so far it makes great coffee with the standard brew setting. I have not tried the custom setting yet to fine tune it further. Before purchasing it I did read other customer comments just to get a sense of what I was getting into this machine. Some of the comments talked about the noise of machine when brewing and the user interface (clock vs. no clock). When initializing the machine for the first time, you set the actual time - and that is the last you ever see of it, because it doesn't display the time when idle. I personally found the user interface to not be user friendly, and the instructions to be rather cryptic. A few times now I've had to pull the plug on the machine and reset the time because I accidentally started a brewing when I was trying to set the timer, and there was no way to cancel once it started its brew cycle. Or, if there is a way I don't know about it. Again instructions and user interface and user experience could be vastly improved in my opinion. It is not intuitive. In terms of the noise you definitely notice it. There are two sound levels, I am not sure if it is a compressor or what but it is audible and despite rubber pads to insulate the machine from the counter, the vibration still transfers to the counter. In my first experience I was very startled by the noise, I am somewhat used to it now. That said the very first time the vibration travelling through the countertop was transmitted to a nearby appliance causing some metal on metal to rattle, and once I located the source of the sound, and separated the two items, the rattling stopped. So all in all, I like the coffee maker, and maybe because it was more expensive than other options, I want to like it, it has it's quirks, but it does make a good cup of coffee.

The brewer and carafe work well. However, the water tank lid is loud because it vibrates while brewing. A heavy object that won't fall off the lid can dampen the sound.

This coffee maker with thermal carafe does not keep coffee hot. Description says "Dual-wall thermal carafe will keep your brew hotter for longer – up to 4 hours above 150ºF / 65ºC". Not even close. At 2 hours after brew I am showing 120 degrees. I wish I had bought the glass carafe version with hot plate. Spent a lot of money for something that I am 20% happy with.

I’ve had this coffee maker for almost a year and I’ve decided I do not like it. It is very hard to program. There is no on/off button so if you make a mistake, you have to unplug machine. Cannot figure out how to put in a timer once and have it repeat daily. Always have to reprogram. Coffee is also weak and cannot figure out how to make it stronger. Machine is great looking but functionality is poor. I do not recommend this.
