Coleman Skylodge 8-Person Instant Camping Tent

Absolutely love this tent. It’s set up is so easy, honestly one person could get it done. Very roomy inside and you don’t feel like you’re unable to even stand up. I think this is the best tent on the market!

We purchased the 10-person version of this a couple years ago. It's no longer showing up as an option. We wanted to like it. The purchase process was difficult. (First one shipped with twisted poles - new design is metal but not great, and the return was complex. Replacement first try was a 10x10 canopy. Returned that, second eventually came properly with functioning poles.)Because our state has been updating campgrounds, reservations were sparse and there were two summers without camp trips. This year we finally got to use the tent. First trip, we got lucky and had no rain, only wind. Tent did alright, we were particularly happy with the extra space. We did notice that the fabric was particularly thin looking, and seemed to be pulling apart already at pointsalongthe seams. We'd only set it up once at home andin this trip. Definitely not looking like a long term solution. Second trip there were storms. The most waterproof part of the 10-person version of this tent was the floor. Rain streamed from the fly and directly through the wall. By morning, even after adding a large tarp, the floor was ankle deep - having held onto all the rainwater that came pouring in through the walls. (Thankfully we had most stuff in totes, just in case.) The last Coleman tent we had lasted 12+years. It was great, just too small at this point. We went bigger and trusted Coleman. I now feel like we have a very expensive screen room that won't hold up to rainstorms. So maybe a sun shade?

Pros: The size of the tent is great for 2 adults with a queen air mattress and a week's worth of luggage. It's very tall so you can fully stand up. Cons: the fly does not adequately cover the tent and prevent water from coming in the sides. It leaks on the sides in every place there is a window tie or mesh pocket. And it leaks worse if you have anything in the mesh pockets. It's also unnecessarily complex to put up.

I got this because I was tired of taking 2 hours to set up my old tent. This tent setup is easy - by myself it took about 15 minutes - probably most of that was staking it. It rained while I was camping - not a monsoon by any means, but everything inside the tent, including me, stayed dry. Those were the two things I was looking for - easy setup and waterproofing. With the windows unzipped the air flow was great. But at night when I zipped them up, the tent kept a lot of the warmth in it. I bought the 6 person tent, because I like a lot of room. I have a full size mattress, small table, camp chair and two totes in the tent with me. Plenty of room to walk around, and able stand up straight in the middle even though I am 5'7". I have only used it once so far but looking forward to more uses in the future.

expectations! it was incredibly easy to set up, very spacious, and comfortably fit our family. The quality feels durable, and it held up well during our camping trip. Great ventilation, plenty of room, and an excellent value for the price. I would definitely recommend it

I've never had a tent like this before and went to set it up without watching or reading instructions. It too my about 4 minutes to wing-it and stand up the main body of the tent. It was too tall to put on the rain fly by myself and we decided not to put it on because it's July in California. It was just barely large enough for two queen sized air mattresses to sit side by side and also have about 3 feet at the end of the tent for changing clothes. It fit my family of 4 including a 4yo and a 7yo very very well. Breaking it down and putting it away was also very easy. The carrying case wasn't a snug fit, we just dropped it in and buckled it up. Seems like a solid buildout and I'm happy to use this a few times a year!

I purchased the Skylodge instant 8 person tent. I am an under 5 foot 5 inch women and was able to set this up all by myself. It was a breeze to do and I’ve never seen such a large tent that was also such a smooth process to put up. Granted, I haven’t had to purchase a new tent in over 10 years because my previous tents were also Coleman (some are still going strong!). It’s rained, it’s been windy, it’s been sunny and the tent has held strong, dry and cool. Such amazing ventilation on this tent particularly. Coleman is a reputable brand that I knew dropping money on would be a good idea when my previous tent of a slightly smaller size finally needed to be replaced. As someone who is a frequent tent camper and has used many brands, Coleman has been reliable and with care their tents last well over a decade, which to me makes the price point very much worth it. With the new tent set up and designs being so much easier as well, also worth it! I hope to get years worth of outdoor enjoyment out of this tent! (One tent I have by Coleman that’s smaller is over 20 years old and still amazing!)

Very Comfortable and Easy to set up. Easy to Pack and doesn’t take up space. Can withstand Rain and strong weather. Strong materials and durable.

If you like to be outdoors this is a good option, it is comfortable, spacious and safe, it is easy to install and assemble, it is waterproof, it does not leave unpleasant odors.

This tent work out great for my girls camping getaway. It was easy to assemble. It was more than enough space for the 7 of us. It was very comfortable, the ventilation was great. It was very durable.
