The North Face Base Camp Duffel Bag

This bag is huge. With the new airline standards you would pay extra to check this bag. This bag may be good for canoeing, but not for normal travel. If you pack this bag with just clothing and a pillow It would be over the 50 pound limit for the airlines and the actual size is too big to be one of the free checked bags.

What can't you fit in this bag? Seriously, I can sit in this bag, which is great when you are packing a ton for a good road trip. We were able to pack all of our (4) ski boots, jackets, ski pants, and a few extras in this bag. The backpack straps helped a ton to carry this giant bag to and fro. Like the other base camp duffels, this is extremely rugged, waterproof, and durable.

I've taken the Base Camp Duffel—XXL on international climbing trips and high-altitude expeditions, and it has never let me down. The capacity is massive — it swallows down suits, double boots, ropes, hardware, and still has room to spare. For big mountain objectives where organization matters, the wide D-zip opening makes packing and repacking at base camp incredibly efficient. No digging around in freezing conditions. We have been buying the same Duffel bag for years! We travel a lot since we have homes in two countries, so we carry a lot of things back and forth. These are the best for that! They are super spacious and super light! As our kids grow, they take our bags, so we keep buying them. We have them in green, blue with gray, red, yellow and our favorite: in black.

This product is heading to Tibet soon. I had a different cheap duffel on my last trek and the seams opened up in flight. This duffel is super sturdy, peace of mind….

This bag is bomb proof and I dont think there is anything else like it on the market. Its my go-to bag for carrying gear on all adventures.

I had to pack for three seasons where I spent two weeks in Svalbard and then went to Kenya and Tanzania for another two weeks. It held everything I needed. It also stood up to being checked on nine separate flights, multiple taxis, rental vehicles, and six different safari vehicles. Getting clothing in an out of it was easy as was packing and repacking it. I would highly recommend buying any other color than black if you have any gear or clothing that is black since it will disappear inside. If you need absolute waterproof capabilities, know that it will likely leak where the zipper is if it is left out in a heavy downpour. For light rain, it shouldn't be an issue. I will use mine again on an upcoming five week trip to India and Mongolia where it will once again be packed with for both arctic and jungle weather.

It got rained on and everything inside got wet. The primary material may be water resistant, but the corner seams are not. Also the material on the bottom is different and not as water resistant so pretty much don't get it wet at all. The primary material is super stiff making it hard to unzip and will likely crack in time. Backpack straps are too far apart and it causes sagging in the middle. Really awkward to carry. THE RETURN POLICY: you don't know that it's trash unless you use it and they won't let you return it if you have. It has to be returned within 30 days of original purchase and be UNUSED. YOU CAN GET MUCH BETTER FOR MUCH LESS
