One of the straps to keep down the clothes broke from its rivets on the inside. I'm Anchorage and a local store is willing to help. Fingers crossed. The bag/ suitcase has worked out well up here in Alaska.
Well made, well designed. Great for frequent airline travel and rough handling. Lots of usable interior space
Definitely a great bag to use for international adventure travel flights! Material is robust, and the color stands out on an airport baggage belt. While the wheels are designed to be tough, one slight improvement would be to somehow redesign the bag so that the wheels also pivot to make pulling this bag through long-haul airports a bit more comfortable. Carrying one of these iconic bags in the airport is a great way of announcing "Hey, I travel off the beaten path – you should too!"
Great bag
My go-to bag for longer trips or when I need to bring more gear. Tons of space, easy to pack, easy to find stuff once it is packed. Takes a beating, scuff marks can be cleaned off the yellow skin quite easily, the bag still looks good after roughly 2 years of use. Only disadvantage: because of the quality material and components used, the bag by itself is quite heavy; the airline limit of 50lb per checked bag is reached very quickly, before the bag is full. For a road trip I had over 80lb of gear in that bag and it performed flawlessly.
Outside material scuffs VERY easily and just had bottom plastic plate, inside shell break in half. E-mailed North Face to find out if it can be repaired and never heard back. Much too expensive of a product to have terrible customer support.
This is a must have travel bag.
Bought 2 of these to replace two similar Eagle Creek duffels no longer available that were tired from 13 years of flights and baggage torture. Though we haven't used them yet, these new ones seem to be similar in quality to the Eagle Creeks though the interior lining is a little sparse.
Takes a beating well, rolls all over Italys cobble stone streets without any issues .
This is a very well-built travel duffle that I have yet to use. I was planning on a trip to Jamaica after the hurricane, but that trip got cancelled. I would like to see a change in how the handle retracts and extends to having only one button instead of 2.
