The boot is very pretty but it runs thin

I bouth this boot last week.....a little bit tiet,,,,,

I just received this Steve Madden Chelsea boots and they fit too tight. I noticed the size inside the boot says 12 but online when I ordered them it shows 12M. I have another pair of boots I bought several months ago and the size shown inside the boot is 12M and they fit beautifully. I just don't understand why show the "M" online when the boot itself doesn't have the "M". I don't know if that "M" in the size makes a difference. I just chatted with a Macy's rep and she said the “M” just means Medium width, which is the standard width for footwear. It doesn’t change the length or overall size of the boot. I just don't understand why show the "M" online when the boot itself doesn't have the "M". And like I mentioned, I have another pair that does shows "12M" and fits perfect. They actually are beautiful. I wish they fit. getting a size up, in my opinion, would make the boot look too long.
