I bought this lens as a not too large good quality every day lens to go with my S5D. The lens is small for a f2.8 lens but it still isn't a small lens! It still has a 77mm filter diameter! The image quality is absolutely stunning and the lens is really sharp. Isolation at f2.8 creates a bit of pop or 3D effect in the right conditions. AF is very snappy and the zoom ring rotates very smoothly. The MF ring doesn't provide much feedback but work accurately and precisely. Some reviewers complain about a bussy bokeh but this is not something I can confirm. The background blur is very pleasing and not distracting at all IMO. I am very pleased with the lens, its sharpness, AF and general purpose performance. I don't really miss the extra 10mm of the 24-70mm.

Excellent lens, the zoom is smooth, the focal range is very useful. Trading off 10mm on the long end to get a 50% reduction in weight and cost as well as a noticeable size reduction on the lens vs the 24-70mm is well worth it in my opinion. Really glad Panasonic are doing something different and putting lenses out like this.
This lens is a compact, light and versatile beast. The resulting images are amazing. This lens will serve me well as a dynamic sport portrait photographer.

Great all around lens. It's sharp and the color rendition is great. The size balances well with my s5IIx. The reason why I didn't give it 5 star is because of the vignetting. It's not horrible. Easy fix in post but it's definitely there. Also, the zoom ring isn't as smooth as the s pro line. which is to be expected but that's why it is not a 5 star lens. Do I recommend this lens?... Absolutely. it has not left my camera since I received it.
