Casio Men's Silver-Tone Stainless Steel Watch, 34mm

Great looking watch, the steel band is eye catching.

This watch is an exceptional value. It has a real practical moon phase feature which actually tracks the phases of the moon. No other watch does this in this price range. Even midrange watches default to simplified Sun-Moon complications which only track day-night. I love the Apple Watch-inspired design, all at an incredibly affordable price. The watch’s 34mm diameter and slim 9.3mm thickness is slim and comfortable and slips right under my cuffs The dial catches the light beautifully, and feels far more premium than it cost. One drawback is the day and date subdials are small and very hard to read. Despite that, I think it’s an excellent everyday watch for the price.

Looks even better in person

While the watch has a nice vintage look, the design falls short in everyday usability. The date is displayed on a small sub-dial, requiring you to count tiny, closely spaced markings just to figure out the day. This is incredibly difficult—after a few seconds, your eyes tire and you lose your place. It’s a needlessly complicated approach to something as simple as the date. If you're designing a watch, it should be user-friendly. A simple numbered date window would have been far more practical, especially since not everyone has perfect vision. A couple of other things to note: I ordered the silver dial version, and in person, it’s noticeably darker than it appears in the product photos. The photos also don’t convey just how small the date sub-dial really is.
