It has elastic waistband with adjustable string which ensure it fit well. It has lots of pockets and easy to wash.

We love the drawstring so we can tie them when the pockets start filling up with legos and cars and rocks. The material is so incredibly soft and the lining helped keep them from getting hung up on underwear. The material and thoughtful design put into these really shows, they are great shorts for active boys. Unfortunately, my son said they were too short on his thighs. I compared them to shorts he regularly wears and they were only about an inch shorter. These were so close to perfect.
