Samsonite Mother Lode Large Wheeled Duffel

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a replacement of the same bag after the zipper broke! Love this bag. I travel extensively and have many other bags. None have the compartments with outside access that this bag has. Makes it easy to partially unpack and continue to live out of the bag. Everything has a place. Had the original bag for 6 years, traveling almost nonstop.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife and I were planning multiple trips this summer, including a 17-day Tour of Nordic Capitals, and our existing luggage was old and failing. We liked the features and styling of Samsonite's Motherlode collection and so ordered one duffel for each of us, plus one carry-on. Now we've used these items on the Nordic trip and liked them very much. We were able to pack a lot in them and, although the duffels are already a little heavy when empty, we were able to pack a lot in them without going over the airline's 50lb weight limit. We especially liked the combination of the hard-side bottom section with the soft-side top, the ability to access the top section through the outside u-shaped zipper, the quality of the zippers themselves, and the side and top pockets. Note that if you're used to 4 spinning wheels, that the duffle has only 2 non-spinning wheels.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This bag holds it all. No need to pack an additional carry on bag. I was comcerned it would tip over since it only has 2 wheels, it does not and it is much easier to handle than a bag with 4 spinner wheels.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a solid bag, but some features were eliminated from the eBags version that were extremely helpful. The zipper style is fine, but not as easy to lock at the eBags ones were and the size is a bit large for most travelers. It's disappointing that Samsonite eliminated the medium sized Mother Lode, which was a much more helpful size.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this bag a month ago. It’s way larger than what I expected. It is 62 inches, which is the maximum for airlines, without it being expanded. The sizes it shows the samsonite website are without it having any contents.

The bags have made 5 return trips to Vietnam, several domestic trips & still look new. They are designed very well, and durable. Absolutely no regrets, and highly recommended!

My old one was way worn out and I love the orange interior (to find stuff) the use of space- there’s a lot of room to pack! And I like how you can configure the inside any way you want…. We'll never purchase anything else. The many we have gifted have also garnered glowing reviews...from honeymooners, graduates and world travelers...they've all agreed BEST OF THE BEST. I can get into one of these bags what it used to take me two. Made cruising much much easier too.
