I love the outer shell texture - soft without that typical plastic-y or swooshy sound from most rain coats. Pit zips are a must for ventilation. I wore this in the summer heat and the jacket was still breathable, but the pit zips were a major plus. The nonwaterproof pocket zippers and single point hood adjustment make this a jacket for lighter rain days, but probably not a full-on monsoon downpour. The Vapor color is a nice contract from the typical black and darker colors that rain jackets are usually made in. I got a women’s Medium size, and am 5’6” with a medium build and the flare in the hips helps with the fit. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.

Pros The jacket was really comfortable with softer, quieter materials. It didn't have the crinkle sounds as some jackets do. I had several rainy days and stayed entirely dry. The zippers seem very well sealed keeping water out. I'll be curious to see how it performs longer term. I did size up with the intention of layering for hikes or everyday use. Cons The only nice addition is including an internal chest zip pocket. I found myself wanting to store things inside my jacket but didn't have the pocket for it. Sadly, e has been hit with a dry heatwave and rain has not been very common, so I haven't been able to test it during athletic activities, but during a rare sprinkle on my walk to class it was waterproof, flexible, and breathable. I have tried a handful of other rain jackets before and PreClip Evo Flex is one that I would recommend to anyone looking for a solid rain jacket to bring on a variety of adventures. I live in Florida and it held up well during heavy downpours and was still comfortable enough to wear during light rain. Due to the hot and humid climate here, having a rain jacket that is lightweight and breathable is very important to me and I am impressed with the PreClip Evo Flex’s design and features. Overall fitting of the jacket, such as length, is great. The adjustability of the arms and hood worked well. When putting the hood up, once the jacket was already fully zipped, up I did have to maneuver the jacket over my head a bit to get it on. Once on and zipped the jacket has great coverage without being in my face and blocking my visibility. The jacket being able to pack into its own pocket is a huge plus as well. Overall, the Marmot PreClip Evo Flex is a jacket that I will be wearing again and again. Happy to have found a jacket that works well for my adventures and more! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The @marmot Pre-Cip Evo Flex features a 2.5 layer NanoPro waterproof/windproof fabric, which is seam-taped to ensure leak-proof protection, and is flexible and breathable. The Pre-Cip Evo Flex has pit zips to regulate temperature, zippered pockets, one of which the jacket packs perfectly in to - I love a good packable jacket! I tend to overdress for running, walking and outdoor activities, and overheat easily, so I’m a huge fan of the pit zips, and the packable pocket allowing me to easily shed a layer and carry it with me. I used this jacket for cooler morning runs, and evening walks, and it was surprisingly breathable, flexible and overall really comfy, and kept me dry in rainy and foggy conditions. The jacket fit true-to-size - I got a large, even though I’m typically a medium, however I tend to size up in jackets to allow for layers, and the large is perfect! This is an excellent option for anyone looking for a great waterproof/windproof, breathable, packable option for all their outdoor adventures. And, the Galapagos Blue color is so pretty, and it comes in several other great color options. I’m looking forward to using this jacket more this fall, and as a layering piece in the winter! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I put the Marmot PreCip Evo Flex Rain Jacket to the dest during a rainy hike, and It performed well in wet conditions. We had steady rain and a very wet trail, which gave me a great opportunity to see how the jacket would actually perform when I needed it rather than just wearing it casually. The biggest thing I noticed was how comfortable and easy it was to move in. I never felt restricted while walking, and the jacket gave me enough room to move naturally without feeling overly bulky. The hood provided good coverage as well! The pockets were great. I can see this being a jacket I keep with me for hiking, travel, camping, or just rainy everyday activities! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As someone putting in the miles for her first marathon and who also goes hiking in the rain, I need a rain jacket that can keep up with my active outdoor lifestyle. I took the Marmot PreCip Evo Flex out for a run in steady rain, walked my dogs in it, and also wore it as an everyday jacket. It came through with keeping me dry without feeling as though my arms couldn’t move naturally. There’s a bit of stretch to the jacket too, which I really liked while running and think will be great for all my outdoor adventures. I was a little apprehensive about the hood, especially with my Afro, but it gave me good coverage and stayed in place while I was running, even in heavier rain. I didn’t have to constantly readjust it, which was a big plus for me. Bonus! The women’s Large, which I thought felt a little too big at first, came in handy when I wore my running vest underneath. I’m 5'5", and I think the extra room will also be great for adding another layer during the winter months. When I started sweating, the jacket did feel a little sticky against my bare arms, but opening the pit zips definitely helped dump the heat. I also love that it packs into its own pocket. I brought it with me on a hike, stowed it in its pocket, and kept it in my bag for easy access in case it rained. I also can’t get enough of the Galapagos Blue color. It’s bright and fun for my outdoor adventures and will fit into my current wardrobe for everyday wear. Overall, I can see myself reaching for this jacket for running, hiking, traveling, walking the dogs, or just everyday wear. I’d recommend it to someone with an active outdoor lifestyle who wants a lightweight rain jacket that they can use for their adventures, is compact when stowed, and can still fit in with their everyday wardrobe. Even though I didn’t get to try the jacket in heavy rain I was able to wear it out in light rain with extreme humidity. I was surprised that even though the fit was snug it was really comfortable and I didn’t feel like I was over heating while wearing it. It was flexible and I didn’t feel like my movement was being constricted in anyway. Even while wearing it when driving. Some jackets get tight in the shoulders and back while driving a vehicle. I've used the PreCip Evo Flex over several hikes in the PNW, in everything from light drizzle to heavier rain. In constant misty conditions, typical of a lot of Pacific Northwest weather, it held up well for hours at a time with no issues. Comfort, breathability, and mobility were great, especially with the pit zips open during higher output activity like climbing steep trail sections. Where it fell short was in harsher, extended downpours. After a while in sustained heavy rain, I started noticing seepage through the fabric. It wasn't immediate, but it showed up during longer exposure, which tells me the waterproofing is better suited to lighter or intermittent rain than to hours of hard, steady rainfall. Or, if I need to get off the mountain quick while biking. Fit and features are solid. The stretch in the fabric makes a real difference on the trail, and I didn't feel restricted reaching, scrambling, or adjusting gear. The pocket-packable design is handy for stuffing it away between storms, and the adjustable hood and hem let me adjust the fit as conditions changed. This is a strong shoulder season jacket for mist, drizzle, and shorter rain exposure, with good comfort, breathability, and mobility. If you're expecting all-day protection in a serious downpour, though, performance drops off with extended heavy rain. Read Less
