Great shirt wonky sizes

I bought this shirt for my tall 9 year old. He's in a size 10/12. I felt the 9/10 in the size chart may be too small so I went for an 11/12 which according to the size charge should have been an XL. When I received it (super quick shipping!), the XL was actually a size 14/16! The shirt actually fit him pretty well, but I bought it for school pictures. I wanted it to fit perfectly so I reordered a size L. I'm keeping the 14/16 since it will fit him sooner than later.
