Philips Sonicare DiamondClean 9300

My experience with this toothbrush was quite terrible. It had a hard time holding a charge, the base for charging was annoying to deal with, and the actual toothbrush made a loud, unusual buzzing sound whenever I used it. Also, after I switched to the second toothbrush head, the head would not stay on when vibrating. So then I switched back to the old head, which worked for a little bit, but then I noticed that the vibration wasn’t even spinning the bristles consistently. Every time I turned on the toothbrush it would sporadically shift the amount of vibration without adjusting the settings. The power button was also designed to catch toothpaste that became difficult to clean and maintain. Even though Philips is willing to troubleshoot and try to fix some of these problems, it’s not worth the hassle. Save your time and money and buy a different toothbrush.

In my opinion: Designed and engineered to fail. There is an metal angle that transmits power from the oscillating magnet to the brush head. This part is designed to fail due to metal fatigue. I have had a number of Sonicare toothbrushes fail (more than half a dozen) and this is always the failure point. Symptom is good vibration but vibration not making it through the brush head. Always outside the warranty period so Phillips Corp. will be very happy....

I’ve been through 3 of these toothbrushes. The pin that holds the head on the base of the toothbrush gets loose with time so I’ve had to replace the toothbrush multiple times. With such an expensive toothbrush, you’d think it would be more durable.

Love the indication of applying too much pressure and the degree of teeth cleanliness. The handle should have had a flat surface opposite the brush head so that the handle would not easily roll over when set down on the bathroom counter.

I love the brush. It does a very good job cleaning my teeth and keeping my gums healthier. It keeps a charge well, too. The reason for the lower rating, however, is because it broke after a year of use. The bit where the toothbrush attaches became wiggly which made the brush loud and nearly unusable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This brush is still a bit aggressive but I am getting used to it. I just hope it will not cause abrasion lesions on my teeth at the gumline. I feel like the mechanisms on the brush could be simplified. There are different levels of intensity labeled in a way that I have no idea how the levels are different one from another. I also feel like Phillips caters too much to public opinion by labeling brush heads as "medium" when they aren't and medium brush heads should never be used. Just be honest with consumers relabeling something to give us what you think we want.
