I was excited to try this new style trench coat with capelet overlay, unfortunately I found the style to be overwhelming on my 5'4" stature. The removable capelet overlay was just too voluminous and came down too low on my body, hitting just slightly above my waist so that visually it cut my body in half. If the capelet had been shorter and more fitted with less fabric it would have looked better on me. I think this style coat with capelet would look fabulous on someone taller. The fabric felt like it might be slightly water repellant, and the coat appeared very well made. I did not care for the color, it had too much yellow tone for my pale skin (Irish decent), so it would have been nice if there were another color offering. I returned the coat.
