Coleman 800 Lumens LED Camping Lantern with BatteryGuard

When putting the batteries in PLEASE notice the rod coming from the battery top & the rod coming from the lantern; I did not & it was a mess!! The rod needs to match up! It is in a TEARDROP SHAPE not a circle so you have to match up the notches or you won't be able to close it or reopen it. I don't know why Coleman doesn't specify this in the instructions. Alot of people have had issues with this. Other than that, this is a Great little lantern. Bought it to use when we lose power.

We have the older version of this Coleman lamp as you can see in my picture. These are amazing to keep around for weather disasters. As in floods, you lose your power and you have a reliable Coleman lamp for indoor and outdoor and they are very durable The light is also very bright and this is the best outdoor lamp I have ever owned.

We removed the batteries prior to storing the lantern last winter. This summer when we needed the lantern, we placed batteries back in the unit, but have been unable to reclose the base unit cover where the batteries are housed. In addition, we are unable to get the base (battery) unit open again. It is stuck. So we can’t open it and can’t close it. How do we remedy the situation? UPC = 076501244496. Power switch broke. They obviously know this is a problem by the reviews, so sell a replacement piece....... only 35 bucks, but that's overpriced.

4 only because I haven't tested for longevity yet but otherwise they are perfect for power outages for getting around

Bought 2 ea. 600 lumen lanterns about 2 years ago to be used for power outages at home. Checked both units for operation when bought. Operated about 20 minutes to make sure units worked properly. All OK. Stored both units in kitchen pantry without batteries. Unneeded for about 2 years. Power went out last nite. Inserted fresh batteries. One lantern worked. Second lantern worked for about 2 seconds and then simply stopped working. Careful examination of both units exteriors and battery compartments showed them to be identical. Foolishly, I did not save the receipt after initial checkout 2 years ago. My bad for that and for not examining the product for thoughtful design with respect to serviceability. I appreciate that seems like a good idea to make these things idiot proof, but that said, I'm disappointed in the product and won't be buying any more Coleman products.

I've had this lantern for several years and I love the light it gives off. I know we had the center piece stuck the last time we changed the batteries but here we are again, the center piece is stuck and I can't remember what we did to get it on again. It comes off fine. It just gets stuck going on and then we can't do anything. Coleman - help!!!

Power knob broke on the first weekend. Can't seem to get any help replacing it.
