Mac Duggal Petite Pleated Charmeuse Keyhole Puff Sleeve Evening Gown

I bought this dress for an upcoming wedding because it came in "petite" size. I had tried several other dresses in regular sizing but my height at 5'3 made the bodice / torso of the dresses too long. In the past I have worn both petite and regular depending on the designer. I expected to have to alter the hem. Unfortunately this dress was still too large on top. The banding at the waist was bulky, particularly on one of the sides as if there was too much fabric. The overall look on the hanger was fine but the fit was odd and unflattering. The color was a little darker than expected but that was not the issue.
