Lightweight 14k White Gold Diamond-Cut Rope Chain 20" Necklace (2-1/2mm)

Extremely lightweight and the chain glistens when light hits it; the chain has gotten me compliments when wearing it. Unfortunately the chain broke on me after owning it for less than a week. I was taking off my camera backpack and the chest clip caught and snagged on the chain. The momentum of the backpack removal snapped the chain almost immediately. I've own other chains and have last me close to 20 yrs without any problems. So writing this review to inform anyone interested that while the chain is beautiful and lightweight, please keep in mind that lightweight comes with a price and to treat it more delicately hence my 4 star review. If it was a bit sturdier it would be a solid 5 stars for me.

It’s beautiful but the clasp broke after one wear.

So, this is completely a “get what you pay for scenario”. Me buying this was a gamble on getting a solid gold necklace at a really good price. The website ambiguously did not say if it was solid gold or not. And I actually called the 800 number and they did not know or could not say. So I rolled the dice and bought it. But yeah, it’s not solid gold so I will be returning it. It is lightweight, super cheap feeling hollow gold. I currently have a 2.0 mm solid gold chain around my neck and bought this for my son, thinking it was similar. It’s not even close. This chain is a fraction of the weight of my 2.0 mm solid chain. Super cheap feeling and flimsy. It feels like a toy necklace out of an arcade vending machine. Oh well, I took a gamble and it did not pay off. Will now return it.

I will be returning the item on tomorrow the only part that looks white gold is the clasp.

I purchased this to go with an antique Celtic cross I purchased in Scotland. Within days it started to fall apart. I noticed something scratching my neck and found a link had opened and the link was scratching me. I gently tried to put the link back in place and close the link. A few days later I noticed that links were missing. I stopped wearing the chain because I was afraid of loosing my cross. The chain appears to be quality but already looks dull, quality white gold shouldn't discolor like this one did. All Macy's said was I should have purchased insurance on the piece but that's not an option for online sales. Now I'm out the money and the chain.

Guys it is very small chain , almost a baby chain , perfect for my 3 year old son . I am returning it ASAP.

Gave as a gift and they loved it. Very sparkling and seemed to be sturdy. Only time will tell.
