The new design works great and has a stronger top than the old design. Unfortunately it also has an extra part required in the base to allow the basket to spin, and the stainless steel bowl now shows fingerprints. Overall it’s a great unit.

We recently upgraded to a the Steel Salad Spinner and love it as well. It is nice to use the steel bowl for serving the salad after using the spinner, instead of looking for another serving bowl.

WE DO NOT LIKE THE NEW CLEAR PLASTIC BOTTOM PIECE THAT SITS BETWEEN THE BOWL AND STRAINER. THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT DRY OFF THE LETTUCE AS WELL AS OR OLD STAINLESS SPINNER THAT BROKE. IF WE HAD PURCHASED THIS PRODUCT, WE WOULD HAVE RETURNED IT. SO SORRY AND I WISH I COULD HAVE GIVEN A BETTER REVIEW BUT THIS ONE IS HONEST.

The spin velocity does not seem adequate to fully dry rinsed lettuce.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The new model has a 3rd piece. A plastic plate. It makes the spinner work better but more to track and clean. Prefer the old model
Product arrived in good condition and is as described. However, it doesn't dry salad leaves, which is why I bought it. I don't know if it should spin faster, have more holes on the spinning bowl, or I should keep spinning the salad until my arms get tired. This is my first salad spinner and I really wanted to like it. Maybe salad spinners don't dry salad leaves. Knowing what I know now, I would skip the spinner and use a kitchen towel to blot my lettuce and spinach leaves.
