Lauren Ralph Lauren Denim Cotton Shift Dress

Just wanted to pipe in and say that I've owned this dress for at least 10 years. I am happy they are still making it. It is an absolute classic. Wear it with strappy sandals. Wear it with sneakers. It goes everywhere. It does not wrinkle. I dry clean mine to keep the color but you can throw it in the wash. Don't pass it up if you are on the fence about it.

Nice weight of cotton denim for spring/summer, but the pockets ruin the line and silhouette of the dress. They bulge out because they are too big and too low on the hip. (I am 5’6’ and tried on a size L, which was the right size for me.) And the stitching around the collar and placket was imperfect and not of the quality one expects from RL items.

Cute dress but it was advertised as black. It was actually indigo.

Nice color. I’ve been waiting for this dress to go on sale. I really wanted this to work. Unfortunately, this is not for me. The arms are cut really bad. My arms strangled in this. There’s no stretch. It did not look good on me.

This would likely be a nice dress for others but was just a bit too short, boxy and stiff for me. I like the idea of denim dresses so I keep trying but I just don’t like how they feel on. So, that being admitted to, I think likely the dislike of fit and feel is more due to personal taste than any defect in the actual style of the dress.

This dress does not disappoint! I bought this dress about five years ago on sale. It’s a staple in my closet. Color doesn’t fade. I’ve worn on different occasions wearing either flats, sandals, wedges, heels, or boots. Great choice!

Great dress suitable for many occasions.

I’m average height (5’6”) but hem is below my knees. Fits like a tent.
