The description of this lamp did not say it was FLAT! Including the shade. It's very ugly, and now I don't want to return it because, you can't even return it to the store, and I don't want to pay shipping back since I already paid $20 shipping just to receive it.
I'm cautious to buy large or expensive things online but I was really happy with this lamp. It's a beautiful, well made piece. The very top and the bottom piece are a different finish from the body, which is hard to capture via picture.
It's actually got a sort of flat shape even tho it looks cylindrical. The shade also is more of an ellipse than a circle.
