By turning the soft knob to thread the coated wire screw through a cork, the gear-driven wings rise up as the screw gets deeper into the cork. Simply push the wings down to release the cork. Feels substantial in the hand and looks elegant on the table.

Did not last long
This wine bottle opener only lasted a few months and randomly broke off into the cork that I was trying to take out of the bottle. It was a pain to get out of the cork.

Corkscrew
Very difficult to turnaround and it shreds the cork. Will not twist out the complete cork. Second one I’ve purchased from Macy’s and both have done the same thing
