Never tried Newbalance for pickleball before until now. I have gone thru several different brands before and they are all hard, heavy and uncomfortable. FuelCell 996v6 is surprisingly so light and comfortable. They are still very stable and offer excellent grips. I play pickleball two and a half hours a day, everyday and I love these shoes. NO feet fatigue. Just excellent shoes.

Love these shoes.
I ordered the Pink Salt in wide. I absolutely loved the 996 v 5 and was sad to see them go. I held off on the 996v6 because I had friends say they were too narrow. I decided to take a chance and order them in wide rather than the standard width. I’m so happy I did. I love the New Balance 996 shoes for pickleball. They support my feet very well and the soles don’t wear out like other brands.

Like them more than most but agree WIDES too small
I like the stability of my foot in these tennis shoes as well as the look of them. They aren't "mushy" which I prefer. I have a wide foot so ordered the women's extra wide (2EE) but as others have said, it's pretty narrow for extra wide and especially given it's an athletic shoe. New Balance needs to do better design or quality control on this model.

Good Not Great
After suffering a fractured fibula I turned to high tops and/or mids to offer better ankle support. I purchased Coco Gauff’s CG2-great support, excellent traction and very comfortable. Once my ankle was completely healed, I opted to go with the FuelCell 996v6, a true pickleball shoe. The shoe is comfortable but the traction and responsiveness are of a lower quality than the CG2. I will be returning to thw CG2 for my next pickleball shoe.
