This is such a beautiful and comfortable sandal. I really wanted to love it on my feet, but the strap that goes across the top ruined it for me. It doesn’t lay smooth on the foot, it kind of arches, and to me at least, gave it a sort of “old lady” look. I think it would be perfectly adorable, beautiful and super sharp without that strap and wish Spring Step would make it that way.
I purchased 2 sizes to be sure I got a good fit but neither one felt right. The middle strap was too big for my foot, and really didn’t seem to serve any purpose other than decoration. The strap across my toes felt very scratchy and uncomfortable in both sizes. I loved the shoe and I was disappointed that I had to return them both.
I love, love, love these shoes! I ordered two different sizes (Zappos makes this so easy) so I could compare. I have very narrow feet, so finding shoes that have this kind of adjustment really makes a difference. I normally wear a size 9.5 or 10 in closed-toe shoes, but I kept the 9 (40) in these because the open toes make the length work and the width of the smaller size worked perfectly for me. It's rare that I find truly fun shoes that fit, so I was so excited to get these. They're adorable, fun, and very comfortable to wear. I'll be looking for more from L'Artiste!
