Been with Brooks a long time (ghost) Trying to go a little cushier since my knees are getting older. After trying multiple shoes and brands I ended up hitting it right with these. The Glycerin 23 GTS have the ideal amount of cushion for me. Just enough without being so cushy it bogs you down. Also being the GTS, you get that little bit of extra support while still being very light. Finally, the 8mm heel drop is perfect. A little lower without committing to a low or zero drop.

From a really picky shoe guy! I actually tried the non guide rail shoe by Brooks prior to trying this on one and I could definitely feel the added stability that the guide rails provide. I usually wear the really spendy Louboutin, GZ lines of shoe with the hard sole and being that I'm used to them the very cushiony sole of some of this style of shoes takes away confidence in my step. These have retained the side to side support while still giving an impressive amount of give. Wow! So far so impressed!

I don't run; I use these shoes for daily walks (about 5 miles) on steep paved trails. The fit is excellent, the support is great, and the size is right in line with my last pair of Brooks shoes. They are excellent! I first tried the Brooks Adrenaline, they have a great "connected to the ground" feel, but there wasn't enough padding under the ball of my foot. The Brooks Glycerin GTS 23 is just perfect for me, lots of firm supportive cushioning. If that's what you're looking for, this could be your shoe.

The back of the heel was way too high. I wear low socks and it rubbed against my ankle. My older pair was not like that.

Time will tell: Shoe is lightweight. Fits straight out the box. Is a true 4e width. It does not have a memory foam/cushion feel which I like. It also does not have the bounce of other shoes which I wish it had a little more. I am using it as a day-to-day work shoe so I can't tell how it works as a runner. For me, it serves the purpose and I will wait to see how long the show remains supportive.
