I have a narrow foot and I'm 80 years old and I've had this issue since I was 16. The current shoe industry no longer cares about the narrow foot. Gone are the days that I could order Florsheim shoes in a B width. This J & M shoe floats around on my food. If your a true D/Wide they'll probably work, but I sent them back. Out of the 7000 mens shoes offered by Zappos, 80 have a narrow width. None of them are "dress" shoes.
I have a narrow foot. Back in the "good old days", I usually had a choice of B, C or D width. B was my preferred width. Nowdays, with all brands, the D width is way too wide and there is usally no choice for a narrower width. Lace up shoes give me some benefit as I can tighten the width to work as long as I use a thick sock, sometimes with a liner. For instance, out of the 7377 mens shoes on your site, only 88 are "narrow"/B width.
