I have three pairs of docs. Two of them fit a half size too big, and one of them fit perfect…but they are all the same size. I wish the sizing was more consistent with this brand! I feel like if I went a size down these would probably be too small, though, so I’ll probably keep these and use inserts. For reference, I’m a women’s size 9 and that’s what I purchased in these.
I purchased these for my husband so I'm going by his recommendation. He has owned docs before and says they are very comfortable. They seem to be made well and fit him great.
EVERYTHING about new Docs is sub par. The sizing is irregular. Heel to toe measurements are almost one inch off on two pairs of the same style and size. Smooth leather appears to be bonded in my opinion, the lowest quality grade.
Docs are always hit-or-miss for me since I have wide feet. There are awesome because they were not as narrow as Docs frequently are.
Material is stiff. Is it even leather?

Great for flat feet! After suffering 10 years trying to wear the size 10 recommended by the official Doc Martens store in London, I bought in 2006 the size 11 in the 1460 for blue from heaven. Same year I bought some side zip Docs in a Chelsea style always size 11. I am now a life long fan of Docs.
LOVE these boots. Long-time fan and repeat owner. This style is, by far, my fav. I’m a 7 1/2 no two ways about it. But these boots in size 7 fit me just fine. Note to those who never owned Doc’s… they break in over a L O N G time… and you’ll be stylish the whole while.
The boots are beautiful but I’m not big enough for those big boots.
