I purchased the Helen Grey Etna.. please know this was my 3rd time in 0 years I have purchased this exact sandal. This time though the leather is extremely stiff, painfully stiff. I know there is a break in period with leather… BUT I don’t see that ever happening with this pair. And for $175 I am not willing to wait it out, and what if they never break in? Mephisto did you lower your quality? I’ll try a pair in suede leather….. fingers crossed. Very disappointed the Helen Grey Etna is no longer an option for me!

This material is really stiff. It would rub on the toes very badly.

This is the only sandal I have worn for 10+ years. I currently have 7 pairs. I usually buy a new pair about every two years but in the same style. Because of the excellent materials, classic style and lasting construction, I get a lot of wear from each pair. When a pair gets too worn, I use it for my "beach sandals" because the support is still better than flip-flops. I always get compliments on this shoe and have recommended it to many friends and family. The only shoe I wear in spring and summer!

I love this style, but his is the wrong side. I need the wide size. I'm happy to exchange it for the correct size 8 wide.

I am so disappointed in this sandal and so disappointed in Mephisto! I have two pair of this style that I basically live in all summer. They fit perfectly the minute I put them on. There must have been a redesign or change in materials in the three years since I last ordered because this new pair is so stiff it's like walking on thick boards. The foot bed is the same, but the walking sensation is clunky and awkward. They sandals are going back but I'm not going back to Mephisto. :-((

I love these sandals so much. When I opened the box I knew they were of good quality because before you see what’s inside you smell pure leather. This was the first time I purchased from this brand. I will be back for more!

I was pretty surprised and disappointed to find how uncomfortable these were out of the box. It would have literally been torture to attempt to 'break' these in. The pair I bought some years ago did not hurt my feet when new like these do and I'm still enjoying them today. Great long-lasting quality. I will be reluctant to ever buy these again. I will send my old pair in to be resoled.

Fit is not as good as the Madeline - which I love. I am hoping it becomes more comfortable with wear.
