Maybe it was the straps, but the toe grip portion of the shoe hits me at the ball of my foot. Exceptionally uncomfortable. Didn't feel like taking a chance on these sandals. Additionally, these felt thinner in the sole. A less substantial shoe than my AZ slides or my Boston clogs. I read about that same issue in reviews about this same sandal in FP as well. Way to go Birkinstock, making Target quality shoes at a crazy a#* price point.

I wanted to love these and really hoped the Birkenstock foot bed would help issues I've been having with my feet. However, when I went to try them on I found that the footbed was the right size, but the straps on the heel and upper foot were too short and the strap that crosses just behind the toes just barely fit and was angled so as to dig into my foot. They are lovely, but do not love my feet. I really wish all of your sandals had measurements for the straps as this is the second pair of sandals I've tried (by two different brands) where the straps were to short for my feet.
My son is a size 14 in most shoes these fit great, even though they are marked as a 13-13.5.

True to size- fits great- Soooo cute!
My only negative is that the leather is not as "purse"- like as my former Milanos in black. I almost returned them, but couldn't find the higher quality leather anywhere else. The 'Habana' color looks like tobacco. Yuck. No sheen at all. They looked old or used. So I applied an oil-type conditioner, which gave them a lustre (sort of) and darkened them , improving the look.
The buckle hit right at the ankle bone and made the shoe uncomfortable. LOVED everything about it ... except the buckle.
I think I could have had a slightly smaller size the width was perfect but it seems a little long but I think they are great and would not return them !
I first got Birkenstocks in the 90s and I loved them because I have wide feet and like functional shoes I can walk miles in without any pain. Now I'm in my 50s. I ordered two similar shoes: Birkenstock's Milano (Oiled Leather) and SAS Relaxed Comfort Sandal (Teddy). The SAS' are so much more comfortable than the Birkenstocks. Huge difference. The Birkenstocks are much harder underfoot and the ridge under the toes (which I believe is to help you ever so slightly grip the shoe with your toes) is quite uncomfortable. It could be that young feet with more fat/cushioning won't mind the difference but for me the SAS are the clear winner.
