This is one of those styles you hope the company does not change or stop making in your lifetime. The fit is a perfect combination of safely snug and comfortable enough to wiggle your toes. The zipper means easy off and on, and the laces mean that this will suit those with a wide variety of ankle/calf circumferences. The laces also mean that you can wear both tights and thicker socks with these boots. The books look a little clunky in a picture, but on the foot they are more elegant; I wear mine with knee length skirts and tights and get many compliments and double-looks. The heel lifts you out of ice and snow but is low and large enough that you never teeter. My final suggestion is that you buy your regular size and consider a half size smaller if you need accommodation for foot issues in the toe box or need to wear an orthotic. As you can tell, these are dream boots for me. If you are the fence over the price, remember the ancient Chinese proverb: "Buy the best you can afford, and cry only once."

Awe NOOOO!!! I have to admit, I included these in an order knowing I'd probably return them. Zappos takes the "gamble" out of shopping that way. But these boots are absolutely perfect! Beautiful dark brown suede, low comfortable heel, that perfect LaCanadienne fit... there is no way these beauties are going anywhere but on my happy feet:) I love these boots!

These boots fit perfectly and look fantastic and actually keep my feet warm while I am walking my puppy in <10 F temps. My first pair of LaCanadienne boots are 13 years old. They are in excellent condition except for the zipper. I wouldn't have even needed to replace them but I can't go without winter boots for the 2 weeks it's going to take to get the zipper replaced. They are expensive but they never wear out!

Reviews said to order a size down. Wrong - way too small. Didn’t even feel like the correct size at all. Also did not look like the same boot from the pictures online. The boots look expensive online but cheap in person. Had to return for all of these reasons. Expected more for the price!

I have owned many pairs of La Canadienne boots. This is generally the first brand I seek out. I love the City Dry water resistance. These ones are more rugged in style, and the chocolate brown is gorgeous. However, the interior lining ripped, exposing the very hard heel support. In fairness, I have had them for 3 years, but I could have worn them for much longer if not for this fact.

I use La Canadienne shoes for several years. I have wide feet so at the beginning it seems a bit tight but stretched after some time. It's very comfortable. Sad thought after few months the inside torn. But overall I love it

did not zip up easily..inconsistency w sizing that has not been so in the past
