My shoe size ranges from 10-11. I'm 5'10". I have small calves. I thought I'd try these in the largest size available (M) as I'm looking for a good quality dress sock for the office. No such luck-these are too short for someone of my height and stopped midcalf. My search for nice stockings that actually reach my knees continues...
They are Wolford so they are high quality. Nothing ever wrong with Wolford products. However, I would classify these as opaque nylons. I wish they were labeled as such because I was looking for something thicker and would not have bought them if I knew how thin they were.
I was very disappointed when I received these socks. I have not worm them yet but, for $35 I expected a high quality, full fashioned sock with a proper toe and heel, not a tube with an annoying seam at the toe. The photo on the website was not a very good illustration of the product. Having said that, the fabric seems nice and I decided to keep them.
I have so many knee highs that either fit poorly, slide down or are too tight so I thought I'd take a chance and buy an expensive pair. It hasn't been cold enough to wear them but I did try them on and they are very comfortable, not too heavy or thin, stretchy, and the band not too tight. I will do an update after I've worn them a full day.

Band at knee very tight
Wonderful socks, especially when wearing them with dress slacks. They stay put and they don't slip down to my ankles like most other knee-highs do. Very good quality too.
