We loved these shoes! Unfortunately the wide insert did not offer enough room for either of my twin boys. They both have wide/thick feet and we couldn't even get their foot all the way in the shoe. If your little one doesn't have an issue with wide feet then I highly recommend these - they are adorable!

Love the traditional, classic style of this shoe for my 2.5 year old son. He is also obsessed with them and wears them almost every day to preschool. The change that I would really recommend to FootMates is that they need to be just a little roomier for a toddler foot. My son was previously wearing a size 7 in the brown saddle oxford version of this shoe, which he outgrew. Unfortunately the size 8 in this style is more like a 7.5, even with the wide width insert. I was hoping to be able to use the medium width insert and switch to the wide width as his feet grew so he would be able to wear them longer. When we previously tried this style about a year ago, his foot was so chubby/thick that we couldn't even get his foot in the shoe. It's still a bit of a struggle even though his feet have lengthened and flattened out a bit, but he's happy. Don't even bother with this shoe if your child has thick/chubby a.k.a. typical toddler feet. If you're looking for a classic buck style shoe for chubby feet, try the saddle version or a different brand.
This is a great shoe, good rich color that goes with everything. I like it bc it sort of blends with skin color & doesn’t show scratches, etc as much as a traditional white toddler / kid oxford. The only reason I say it’s narrow is because my son has a very wide foot. Wish they offered a “wide” option instead of a “M/W”
I’m not even sure what didn’t work. They’re adorable but as another reviewer stated , we could not even get then on my 2 yo grandson and he doesn’t have wide feet The instep area is way too low Disappointed

Cute dress shoes for my son. I was looking for flexible shoes so that they would be comfortable (he normally wears shoes from See Kai Run). These fit the bill. Only two complaints- I wish there were elastic laces instead of laces I actually need to keep tied. And the suede scuffs very easily (probably unavoidable).
