I have to agree with other reviewers, I didn't feel like this garment helped that much, or even did that much. When it's in the packaging it seems like really strong fabric but when I put it on, it was like wearing an average pair of bike shorts, except it gave me a muffin top. I'm 5'6" 128 lbs and got a size small, which seemed like the right size for me. My old spanx are rather worn out, but they seem like they're made from a stronger, more effective fabric.

I'm anywhere from a size 14 to 18 and I'm 5'6". These go up too high in the back and as a result, they roll down and also create weird back fat that's worse than it was to start with.

I bought these because I was bulging in my dress pants. The seams on these show through the pants so it looks like I have shorts on underneath. My mom gave me a pair of pantyhose that sucked me in and those work perfectly. I may wear these spanx under a dress sometime.

These don't really do anything. They could be considerably tighter, especially in the leg area. I couldn't notice a visual difference so I measured myself with them on and off. They took off .5 inches on small of the waist, the love handle area actually measured .8 to 1 inches wider, and the hips one inch smaller. The pro's are that they are comfy, lightweight for summer, and you would you less jiggly when wearing a clingy jersey dress or something.

Definitely "size up" if you are in-between... Very trimming - but very compressive. I hope I stay comfortable throughout the wedding and reception.
