SPANX Tight-End Tights®, High-Waisted

I had read a review that these tights smelled like mildew. I assumed that a new batch would not have that problem. I was WRONG. They have a weird smell that you cannot eliminate. I tried Blue Dawn, vinegar, lingerie soap and baking soda. I ended up putting them in a small zip lock with a sachet. That got me through the memorial which is why I ordered them. What I didn't realize is that the odor was transferred to the dress I wore. So now, I have ruined a $100 dress on top of not ever being able to use the tights again. They are a great fit and did just what I wanted except for the terrible odor. Very disappointing.

Spanx tights used to be a wonderful product but for some time have come with a mildew smell brand new out of the packaging. What a shame. The company needs to correct this. It is the reason I will not be buying them.

The Spanx High-Waist stockings are fantastic - I have had them before and I love them. I am fairly close to the border of two sizes and I do size down a letter, as you get more Spanx control in doing so. I disregarded others' comments that they smelled musty, thinking that those customers must have received a bad batch, but honestly, the smell is pretty bad. I was afraid people at work would think I had a musty home. I have tried washing them with antibacterial detergents and sports detergents, but you cannot get the smell out of them. Friends sitting close to me admitted they could smell it, once I pointed it out. Great product, really odd problem going on here.

The material felt nice and was fairly opaque but it was smelly. Mildew? I normally would have tried to wash it out but a previous reviewer mentioned she couldn’t get rid of the smell. Only tried it on one leg but after taking it off, had to shower to rid the smell.

This is my second review of this item. I did not mention the mildew odor in my first review thinking my mind was playing tricks on me. Not only do they roll down when sitting they literally stink! Very bad tights. You have been warned. Spanx should do something about this problem.

Order a size down. I ordered the size that the chart says I should be and they seem big and do not hold everything in like regular Spanx. If I would have sized down it would have probably fit better. The top also has a runner in after wearing them twice.

This items stinks. Literally. It smells terrible and the odor does not dissipate after washing.

I can't speak to how these may fit, perform since they smelled like mildew upon opening. This was the 3rd pair I've purchased from various retailers, and same issue. Spanx needs to research.

Fit and size great. They smell bad! Tried washing didn’t help? Any suggestions?

The last few pairs I have bought SMELL like a dirty old basement and moth balls. It is disgusting. I NEED new tights so not sure if I should risk it again or seek a different brand. Unless they have corrected the smell, they are not suitable for use...huge waste of money. Spanx should be refunding us.
