Proper open toe 'fisherman' sandals are the unicorn of sandals ... most stores & sites have scads of closed toe sandals, or those 'sports' sandals with only 2 straps across the bridge (those are NOT proper fisherman sandals), all of which are horrible to look at, or horrible to wear. These Dockers 'Shorewood' sandals are not bad, but not great either ... the best I can say about them is they are acceptable. Since Zappos doesn't carry these in half sizes, I had to choose between sandals that result in me stubbing my toes with every stride, or ones with clown-shoe like protuberances sticking way out in front of me. The build quality seems fairly solid, but the 'memory foam' footbed is not nearly as cushioning or as comfortable as the marketing spiel would have you believe. Since I know that leather is in fact cheap and easy to get (all those McDonalds hamburgers worldwide result it a LOT of dead cow skin lying about), it amazes me that name brand shoe makers foist that man-made "faux leather" garbage on us at near-premium pricing. Good thing these sandals were on discount -- I most certainly would not pay full price for fake leather.

These shoes size 8 are for my husband. He wears out a pair every year so I am replacing his again. He has worn this style a very long time and I hope they don't stop making them.
Nice.
I didn't like the fact that there's no way to adjust the shoe. Only one strap, and they were difficult to slide into. I had to use a shoe horn to get them on.

Shoe is much too big and too wide. Customer should be told that shoe runs very large.
These are awful. Rubbing and causing bleeding on both big toes
I bought these because of the support. I have narrow feet, so they are a little big. Overall, they're good shoes.
The design of this sandal has been changed for the worst since my last pair several years ago. The sandal is nice in all regards except the rear adjustment strap (around the back of the ankle) has been eliminated preventing a good snug fit. I tried a smaller size than I normally wear and was still a loose fit. I would not recommend them until the solid strap is replaced with an adjustable one.
