I have worn out many brands of shoes, because I use them hard. Im 70 now so I have had a good deal of experience doing that. Keen is the best shoe I have found for hunting elk in manzanita and oak brush, mineral prospecting, hunting for trail markers left by Spaniards who were mining in the area a couple of centuries ago, farming, welding, or just walking, Keen is better than any other shoe Ive seen. I have only owned low tops, so I dont use them cutting fire wood, lest sawdust get in the shoes. I dont use them working cattle on horseback because they just dont replace cowboy boots for that. But when we went to France last year on a ten day pilgrimage, I had two pair of Keen because they are stable for a lot of walking and look good as well. About 20 years ago I had a 5 year old pair I threw away because I stepped on hot metal out of my forge and melted the sole, and it broke along that line. Other than that, I only throw them away because they begin to smell bad due to years of hard use. I cant think of a better referral for a shoe than I cant wear them out, so there you have it.

The big round toe of these make so much room for my toes I actually have to say these have been the most comfortable pair of summer work shoes I have ever had. The soles are a little hard and clunky but easier to deal with then squashed squeezed toes, love them

First time I put a safety toe shoe on that didn't hurt or have to be painfully broken in

On the left edge of the steel shield, the material gave way. That shard caused me pain until I could no longer bear it, so I had to throw it out.
So far, so good! Felt a bit stiff initially, but this turned out to not be a problem, and they softened up without delay. I've not once had the laces loosen up on me, and I don't double knot them. I've spent a good amount of time slogging around in snow lately, and I have absolutely ZERO complaints as far as the Lansings repelling water. I would rate them as "excellent" in the waterproof category! They do tend to be a bit noisy when walking around the warehouse, but who really cares when these shoes excel in so many categories? For me, the fit was true to size. As a bonus, I think they look pretty slick! Just about to pull the trigger on another pair.......
Im on my feet 12 hours a day, 6 days a week. Keen are the only shoes that can keep up and last a decent amount of time
