Amazing sneakers! Most sneakers these days only last half a year (or less), but the first pair of these lasted nearly an entire year before I really needed to get another pair due to wear on the bottom sole. They're comfortable and are roomy enough inside where I could put inserts right on top of the inner sole. They do run a full size large compared to other sneakers, and are a bit pricey for a kid's shoe, but worth it due to longevity.
Order a full size down! Otherwise, they're comfortable mid-cut sneakers. They come to just at the top of the ankle (so, more of a mid-cut than hightops) and it's very easy to get orthotics into them. The strap stays on well and isn't painfully stiff, and the color is great. There are too many neutral colored sneakers lately, so it's nice to find something with some color in it. Time will tell how they hold up, but I've got my fingers crossed.
We love Tsukihoshi shoes, and both of my little boys loved these! They are waterproof and awesome for the winter or any wet season. They are stylish as well. The fit felt a bit smaller than normal Tsukihoshi, and we ordered up at least a half size. I wonder if the reason is because the back of the shoe seems to come in at an angle toward the foot? Once you find the right size, these are great and have held up really well through constant use for 6 months.
