I have used this style of sock for years. The fabric of some pure wool socks dry out or aggravate the skin of my feet. The blend of wool and polyester used in these socks wick away moisture without bothering my feet. The inner layer of the sock is especially comfortable, almost like fleece. I will wear these during the coldest days of winter due to their comfort and ability to retain heat.
Small on the bottom of calf. I wear a size 9.5 in women’s shoe. These fit and feel great on the foot and ankle. But they are made for someone with pencil legs. I have to pull them on then fold the top down halfway or they’re too tight on my leg.
These were to replace a similar hiker that doesn’t seem to be available anymore. The look is similar but the fiber content is changed, which doesn’t work for me and these are a bit longer than is comfortable for this wearer.

Wonderful socks all year in the MidWest. Feet are dry and well cushioned in the summer and warm on the coldest days of shoes have some insulation. Gotta be on the move in leather/bare lining though. There’s a saying in the MidWest, “If it’s fit to grow corn there, it ain’t fit to live there.”
