I’m not trying to be mean. But these weren’t what I would think a $250 pair would be. The brown was dull doodoo instead of the mahogany reddish look in the pics. Literally zero arch in them. I wasn’t pleased at all so they went back. Got my 20th pair of Cole Haan’s. Z
Full disclosure, this is my second pair of Mephisto Thomas shoes. I loved my first pair so much that, despite having a very good alternative, I just had to go for the repeat. The classic looks definitely go great with jeans and casual pants, and while imported, I like that they are made in Portugal. What got me coming back, however, is the all leather lining and insole, in a sneaker. It is difficult to describe the sensation of slipping one's feet (socked or not) into a fully leather lined shoe, it is truly wonderful. The leather covered foam insole is super durable, I actually transfered the ones from my old Thomases to the new shoes!
My husband loved these in off-white. And he loves these in crushed black leather with the white sole. Unlike his other Mephistos, these seemed to run a half size larger than he usually wears in this brand.
Nice leather. I bought them for a vacation so I can dress up or wear them with shorts. I bought a full size smaller than usual. They still might end up being too big. This is my 3rd pair of Mephisto. They never wear out.

Great pair of shoes just a bit larger than other pairs with the same size I wear.
Quality sneaker and leather outside and all leather lined. Beautiful. The seem to run a full size longer and the width is a bit on the narrow side. I just loved them so kept them the a thicker sock.
ZAPPOS - not Mephisto - CREATED SIZING PROBLEM. If you know your European size (which is standardized and, hence, consistent), then rely on it - these shoes are true to European sizing. You will see the shoes' European size once you add shoes to your shopping bag. E.g. European 42 has commonly been translated to US 9 (Zappos instead translates European 42 to US 8. WRONG) Knowing that my husband wears shoes in sz 42, I bought him a few different pairs of Memphisto shoes in sz 42 - every pair fits him very well.
