I've bought Darn Tough socks for over 20 years now. At first I used them for travel, from Viet Nam to Iceland and they performed wonderfully whether hot or cold. I've used them for sports as well. Now I wear them all the time. The merino wool is unbeatable, the workmanship if superb, and they have lasted me for over 20 years. That's quite a bargain at less than $1.00 a year for my socks!
I bought these socks to wear with a pair of LL Bean wellies for a visit to a cool, wet destination. The socks are pretty, and they were warm and the perfect weight for the boots.

I love the way darn tough socks fit in the foot area! The calf part is too tight for me. I will use them for hiking but they are too uncomfortable to wear every day because of the calf compression.

Comfortable and warm except they don't wick away moisture. Not happy about the price and those results.
These socks are very soft and warm. No need to hand wash but I allow them to air dry. As with all merino wool products they do not itch like other types of wool.
