Stonington Oxford Shoes Plain Toe

Well made: Nice looking shoe, I get complimented all the time from my daughter.

Nice shoes exept soles wore out too quickly: I bought these to wear in the office only. The top looks great still but the soles are worn through after a year.

They started out great.... I bought these shoes about a month and a half ago. I liked them. They took a little breaking in but not significant. Then today I noticed the soul was coming away from the shoe at the back. There's no significant wear or anything else to indicate as to why this would be happening. Please understand that I like these shoes very much. They were meant to be a replacement for the no longer available Rockport 9000, and they are definitely that. However, I now have to go back to the store and see what they can do for me. I know these things happen. I expect it to be an anomaly. We will see what happens next ... these were purchased at a retail L L Bean outlet in New Hampshire.Thank you.

I suffer from Plantar Factitious and I needed a pair of shoes that were water resistant. I choose this pair because they are LL Bean quality, they haves removable insoles and can stand up to some water. I placed my insoles into the shoe and experienced the most comfortable shoes I had worn for a very long time.

I like the style of these shoes; the sneaker-bottomed casual dress oxfords through a Bean-rugged lens is perhaps a hybrid too far for this old-timer, but these manage those narrow genre straits pretty well. A 10.5 has been far too small for me in Bean slippers, I'm a 9.5 Bean Boot, and 10.5 is almost too small for me in the old Bean Engineer Boot, but these, at a 10.5, were too big for me and too deep; I'm swimming around a bit in length and width (granted, I ordered a wide), even with thick socks, and the sides press the bottom of my ankles in a way that I can tell would be painful if I wore them for long, although all-day manoeuvrable comfort seems to be the idea. So close!
