I bought these in a wide because my son has wide feet. His foot wouldn't even fit in the shoes. The tongue is not separate from the shoe and you have a small opening to get your child's foot in the shoe. The small opening makes it very hard for a child with wide feet to get their foot in this shoe. I do not recommend for children with wide feet.
My 10 year old has wide feet so we are big fans of New Balance shoes. He loves these shoes, says they are comfortable and how they fasten. We also bought the same shoe is blue, which is a nice bright blue. He has trouble with laces so until he can master that these will be our go to shoe! :)
Love, love the way they fasten with the button you push in and pull out. My child has a disability. Grew weary of velcro fastener wearing out way too fast.
My son has the Shrek foot so it’s sometimes a struggle. These are perfect and he loves the lace dial.
My son loves these shoes. We’ve gotten at least 3 pairs over the past few years. However, the material at the front of the shoe wears quickly and we end up having to throw these shoes away after a few months even though the treads/soles are fine. For the price, it’s not enough. We won’t buy these again.
The concept of the shoe and knob tightening is brilliant, but these shoes run a half size too small.
Perfect shoes: My son is on the spectrum and these shoes are awesome for him. Easy to put on and to tighten/losen them himself. One of the few shoes that he will leave on all day while he is at school. Also one of the few comfortable wide shoes on the market.

Great sneakers but doesnt come in extra wide width. However, my son has the velcro version in extra wide and loves the sneakers. One less star because of not having extra wide width.
