Replacing a 10-year old pair of these shoes with the same shoe, only in a darker color, tells you that they wear well and that i like them enough to order a replacement. I usually wear a narrow, but these fit fine in a medium. I wear them without socks in the summer (and most shoes are not comfortable for me to wear without socks) and with light socks in the winter.
This is an attractive shoe but it feels heavy, slightly clumsy on my foot. It appears to be good quality however.
More comfortable with better support than my Sperry's
I ordered the peanut leather. I normally wear a narrow, but these run narrow so the fit was fine for me. There is good arch support. I wish the sole was a little thicker to cushion my spine more, but overall the fit is good. The leather was a little tight when I first put it on, but after I walked around for a minute the leather felt soft and comfy and fit like a glove. The peanut leather is pretty- like a moccasin, but I wish the sole was dark, not white.
The shoe was beautiful, exactly as described. However apparently, I have a high end step and the seam hit me right at the top of the bend of the toes. Since I would be wearing them for many many hours, it would have been uncomfortable. Beautiful shoe.
I've worn this shoe through a lot of time, this is my third pair. However, it is disappointing that the insole is now some sort of fabric-looking material. My first pair had a great insole, a smoother more leather-like material that was easier to clean with a damp rag, and did not absorb "foot odor" as much as the present one. However, they are still very comfy shoes for me, so I still keep ordering them.
These feel heavier than the three previous versions I have had of this style over the years. The leather is stiffer. The footbed is now entirely of fabric and thus not as "cleanable" as the previous synthetic leather-like material nor I suspect, will it wear as long. Disappointed. I've loved the Eastland boat shoes/deck shoes for years.
Eastland Solstice is a lovely shoe and sturdy and good looking. After wearing them in the house with several different pairs of socks, I find the cut of the style is too narrow even though I ordered a wide width. Sadly I have to return them and try again.
