I purchased this for my daughter and when she first tried it on, it was hard to get her feet in them. I first thought that it was d/t it being new and it still needs to be 'worn in.' My husband thought it might be too small, but I insisted they were a larger size than her last. After she wore these to school, she told me she wanted her old shoes back cuz the new ones hurt too much. I couldn't understand why but after asking more questions I found out that pain was coming from the top of her foot. It was so tight that the top of her shoe left an imprint on her foot (while wearing socks) - after being in school all day. I wanted to keep the shoes because they were waterproof. I decided to cut the bungee and found out that the bungee part of this shoe is actually glued/attached to the tongue of the shoe, which is why it was really tight on her foot and replacing them. If I had known, I would've went w/ another shoe.

Purchased for outdoor preschool. Stands the test of time and beating that preschoolers in the forest all day manage to put on shoes. Best pair ever.
Runs small and is already pealing
Ordered a size 6, and the wrong shoe was sent-- a size 7 (!), of a similar shoe, but with laces all the way. The box was for size 6 and the shoe I ordered, but what was inside the box was a different pair of shoes.
Not water proof after very little use because the sides crack
Broke after one week
My son loved the style of this shoe and it fit great, except there is one major flaw. The little square part that is sewed into the tongue that connects the middle of the lace is extremely hard... like it feels like a pebble is in it. This part pressed on the top of his foot. I really don’t understand why they did this to an otherwise great shoe. Had to return.
We’re on our 4th pair between toddler and little kid sizes. Great for a Seattle kid that loves to be outside in all weather. They do seem to run a half size small now that we’ve gotten to the little kid sizes that wasn’t an issue in toddler.
This fell apart in a matter of weeks.
